Manchester is an exciting place – especially given the increased interest from investors and renters, if you’re here after the Manctopia Documentary that’s currently airing on BBC2 at 9pm on Tuesdays, then it might be worth reading some more reasons why Manchester is an ideal investment.

Demand is skyrocketing

As you’ll have no doubt seen in the Manctopia documentary, demand is sky high right now. The area is home to a wealth of industry in the creative/tech sector, along with “fast fashion” and hospitality, among others. Due to such a huge demand, developers are struggling to keep up! Developments are selling out before they’re even 50% completed – so we recommend if you’re looking to invest in the Manchester area, you move quickly!

Increased demand has also driven an increase in specification, with rising prices and demand comes the quality aspect of developments. Renters and those living in the area now demand a higher quality of living, looking for larger spaces to grow their small families or just to have better living spaces! Renter profiles

Typically, you’ll find that young professionals are the desired tenant types. They’re more affable to rent increases and have enough disposable income to provide you with higher rental yields. Manchester is awash with young professionals looking to rent. Buying property is often something these tenants aspire to, however short term, the dream of living and working in Manchester is enough to motivate them to rent property in the area.

They’re also some of the more respectful types of tenants. Being out between working hours and often enjoying the many sights and sounds of Manchester, their home is their base for the weekends due to the evening culture of Manchester. Much like London, there’s a thriving social scene in Manchester, driven by the desires of the “Young Professional”.

Manchester is home to some of the best places in the UK. With Deansgate having an array of quirky bars, fancy restaurants and traditional pubs, right through to the trendy Northern Quarter, home to cocktail bars, live music venues and “theme” bars such as Flight Club – there’s always something to do on nights out in Manchester.

Being so close to sporting royalty – the huge football club Manchester United being in Stretford and to a much lesser extent, Manchester City, it’s a sports fans haven if they’re a supporter of either. Not forgetting Old Trafford Cricket Ground either, or Salford Reds if you love your rugby. There’s something for everyone. Home to the Museum of Science and Industry (a great day out for the kids) and proximity to some fantastic parks, Manchester really is a great location for people to live and for those reasons – a superb place to invest.
